A family centered maternity care study on Ackah Dorcas

Abstract

The client/family cantered maternity care study is a systematic process in which nursing care is given to a pregnant woman and her family and the community, beginning from the period of Antenatal care through to labour and a successful puerperium. The client centered maternity care helps the client/family to allay any anxiety during the pregnancy till the time of puerperium. The client and family centered maternity care study also forms part of the partial fulfilment for the award of a professional certificate in midwifery by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana by the end of the three-year training as a midwife. Again, there is confidentiality in whatever the client says which helps build a strong inter personal relationship between the health care and the client where by the client won’t hesitate to express her felling and asking of questions.
